I somewhat figured out my problem when using a task and waitUntilExit. When the task finished, a notification was called, and the function had an NSAlertPanel in it. When I got rid of the NSAlertPanel it ran fine and didn't lock up the rest of the program this time. Any idea why this happened? Is it safe to have a progress meter at least?
