NSStatusItem screen flicker

  • Subject: NSStatusItem screen flicker

Hello,

When an NSStatusItem is first created, it appears to be located at (0,0,-x,-y) in CG coordinates relative to the primary display, which is to say just below and to the left of the bottom left corner. If you happen to have a monitor there, then there is some noticeable flicker as the window appears and quickly moves into the menu bar.

This appears to have been a bad design choice, and hopefully it will be fixed soon. In the mean time, is there a work around?

Thanks
Eric
