Not able to trap keyDown event in NSScrollView

Hi All:
I have a matrix of NSButtonCells in NSScrollView.
when a button cell is selected, and "delete" key on
the keyboard is pressed, i need to call a function in
"keydown",the "keyDown" event does not get called at
all, I have made the required connections.What am i
missing?
Pls help.
