OT: Installer/PackageMaker .info

Is there a way to signal the Installer that the *.info or Info.plist file has been changed from the InstallerCheck script? Specifically, after presenting the user with the option to authenticate or not, it would be nice to respond to that choice.

Alternately, is there a way to tell the Installer to not fail if root access has not been achieved?

Is there any real documentation for the Installer?
