Susan et al,
I'm interested in this, as well. From what I've been able to dig up, I
think that the text-input field takes whatever character is typed into it,
and NSDictionary can then store that in any form. So, if a Unicode
keyboard (or the Japanese Character Add-on for OS X) is used, then (i'm
thinking) Cocoa can write that Unicode character string anywhere in the
interface or to an .rtf file, as long as the Font is available on the
User's computer.
Is this correct? Or am I missing something. I have just started playing
with Localization issues for a home project.
