two easy questions

Both are newbie questions and probably easy:
o I note that my "awakeFromNib" method is called twice when my app
runs. This isn't a problem in my case but does seem odd. What's
the reason for this? Or have I done something wrong?
o I need to launch the user's browser with a URL from an Objective
C Cocoa app. I imagine this is done via AppleScript but I don't
really know where to start. Can anyone give me a hint?
