Finding an App by file id?

  • Subject: Finding an App by file id?

Is there a way in Cocoa to find an app by its file id? Give a method "CHIM" and it produces the path to Chimera.app, or Navigator.app, or Camino.app or whatever the heck it's named this week, for instance? Very easy to do in AppleScript, but I'm having no luck finding something similar in Cocoa.

TIA
