This is exactly what I was looking for, err.. at least hope that I
could get away with using obj-c instead of java. Not that I don't like
Java, but I'm just learning obj-c, and want to play with that :)
Xmethods is great, I've been playing with their services in flash alot,
but wanted to start building my own services. Was there something there
related to development?

Since Objective C is an extension of C, you should be able to find a
couple of C or C++ libraries that do this on www.sourceforge.net
I'm not 100% sure but NSNetService might help...

Also i saw something about xmethods.net which might do what you need.
