Support for Complex RTF Files?

I searched the archives and found that I'm not the only one who has run into trouble trying to use RTF files with tables or other special formatting under Mac OS X. But I was not able to find a solution mentioned in the archives. Has anyone come up with a solution for this problem? I have found problems with both tables and also \par \tab. (I can fix \par \tab by replacing it with <real_tab>\tab but I don't think tables are going to be so easy.)

TIA,
