Yes, I think you hit the nail on the head. Some of us are coming from years of thinking in C++ and Java, and it's hard to completely leave behind paradigms and thinking that worked so well before.

It would be nice (and someone please point it out if it exists) if there was a "switchers" book for C++ and Java programmers using Obj-C. It would have sections like "if you feel like you need templates, learn about [whatever about Obj-C makes templates unnecessary/impossible]".
