Back during the 10.1.5 days I remember having the Classic environment
not
handle that well, but it wasn't something I researched so it could
have been
a fluke.
I would avoid it at all possible. It will take the system longer to go
in and out of the screen effect. Also if you run at non-native
resolutions for an LCD things can look bad. A few applications may not
respond well to the changes (really a bug on their part). Finally some
crazy folks like the run screen effects as a desktop background.
