Hi there,
My name is John Cleary. I work in Australia, and run a company called
(predictably enough :) John Cleary Design. I am a Graphic Designer &
Filemaker Pro database developer by trade, and am looking to get into
programming Objective C on Mac OS X.
I have an idea for a piece of software for Mac using bluetooth phones
(ericsson), and am looking for a Mac developer I can co-develop with. I
have a mockup that I have created in Filemaker Pro (as a stand alone
app) that I can show interested parties to see whether they would be
interested in possibly joint developing with me.
As I mentioned, I am unable to help with the hard coding of the
program, and do not know what is available to the programmer from the
Sony Ericsson phones (I'm thinking T68i, the mac person's phone!). By
this i mean what data can be transferred to the computer out of the
phone's memory, however I assume, given the other applications
available on the market that the phone must have some functionality for
reading and writing data.
I am happy to design the interface elements etc, and I already have
many sketches and project builder interface files that I have
completed. I have also developed extensive flowcharts in database-based
logic as to the procedures for the program (data tables, etc.) and
variables etc (I have a basic knowledge in plain vanilla C). I cannot
imagine that there would be a large amount of programming for you to
do, more implementation rather than design. (Of course if we do proceed
I would greatly value any input you may have in application design, I
am talking more in terms of bare minimums when I say that it would be
more implementation etc.)
If you are interested in potentially working on this project, I would
love to hear from you. As I said, I am in Australia, but have no
problem with developing long range - I have done it in the past with
other people. iChat an Email have revolutionized sending files forward
and back! Unfortunately there are no decent Mac OS X programmers in
Australia - a scenario which I hope to remedy in the future!! :)
Thanks for your time, I look forward to hearing from you all. :)
Warmest Regards,
John Cleary
