NSDocument questions

Hi,

I have two questions concerning NSDocument.

1) I am using C++ iostreams to read and write my document's data. I want to
confirm that NSDocument's readFromFile and writeToFile are the correct
methods to override when I don't need Cocoa's I/O facilities.

2) How do I prevent Cocoa from displaying its Cannot Open panel when
readFromFile returns false? I will have already displayed my own alert
explaining why the document could not be read (XML parsing errors in my
case).

Cheers
-Mark
