Exposé and Cocoa

  • Subject: Exposé and Cocoa

This subject has been covered before Panther started shipping. No more confusion on what we can or cannot discuss now.

So, the question remains. How does one discover if one's app has been moved by Exposi or not.

My app displays a window which follows the cursor/pointer around the screen, but when Exposi is triggered, the window gets moved. This causes two issues, first, my users want the window to continue to follow the pointer around, not get moved to a corner or be displayed in the thumbnails of windows. Second, if you do move the pointer, then the window is not placed where it ought to be. I may be able to play with the second issue but it would mean a drop in performance, which is not acceptable really.

What I need is a way to find out if Exposi is on or off or get notified if Exposi has been used, or better yet, figure out a way for my App to be ignored by exposi somehow...

Any ideas?

- Arby
