NSKeyedArchiver, XML, and nibs

  • Subject: NSKeyedArchiver, XML, and nibs

I have been working on persistence in an app lately have been thinking it would be very cool if I could give NSKeyedArchiver an XML schema to go with my object graph and use that rather than the plist format. What do others think of this idea?

I was also thinking it would be very cool if IB made use of this to persist the object graph in a nib into an XML format that we could edit directly if we wished. This would provide similar functionality to XAML Microsoft is implementing in Longhorn. It would possibly be a way for Apple to beat them to the punch on yet another feature.

Are these ideas things that sound useful to others on the list?

Matthew
