Hi everyone,

Seems this issue has generated a lot of discussion. I apologize for not responding sooner, I have been saturated with issues. Rather than commenting on everything, less will have to be more.

There may be recommended solutions to some of the problems described. It also may be the case that some of the recommended solutions have not been documented or otherwise made publically available. If your product requires some of the behaviors discussed in previous posts you are strongly recommended to write Apple DTS at email@hidden.

Information on Apple DTS can be found here:
http://developer.apple.com/products/techsupport/index.html

---

Having said that, there is some recently updated documentation which may provide some clues:
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/MacOSX/Conceptual/ BPMultipleUsers/Concepts/SystemContexts.html

The technote mentioned in the above documentation (TN2077) hasn't been published yet and is being written/finalized by myself. The technote in its final form will be available soon and should answer many of questions posed here. Though, the technote will only provide solutions for 10.3.0 and later. If you are targetting previous systems you should write to Apple DTS (a group of which I am a member) as mentioned above.
