data extraction routines

Remember Apple Data Detectors? I can't remember if there ever was one for date and time info, but I'm looking for a way to extract date and time data (in arbitrary/unpredictable formats) from natural-language strings in Cocoa projects. I suppose I can roll my own, but it will be tedious work trying to account for as many potential formats as possible, and I'm hoping there's already something freely available. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Michael
