I found the api for using the NSApplication methods but how do i use them

applicationDidFinishLaunching
public abstract void
applicationDidFinishLaunching (
com.apple.cocoa.foundation.NSNotification )

is all it says, every way i try it gives me bout a dozen errors
how do you turn this into usable code?
can someone help me with how to understand the api docs?
