Authentication of network users

  • Subject: Authentication of network users

I would like to allow users to use some server application using
some kind of authentication, user name and password.

Does cocoa supply some standard way if authenticating users
over the network?

What I need is this: The server keeps a list of user-name and
password and users authenticate using this information. May
I use some kind of shares authentications database?
Or should I code - on the server side - some kind of database
myself?
