I would like to have a few new options:

1. Do not show files in the directory "Desktop" on the desktop.
(there is a dwrite for this, but since 10.2 this results in Finder
crashes, Bug reported, is since 6 months in Verify state)

2. Do not put miniaturized files into the Dock.

3. Put miniaturized files on the desktop.

Is there some tool, which can do this? Some Dock-replacement maybe?

Google "minimize in place", which taps into some functionality that was removed from a late pre-released version of Jaguar. I think Unsanity uses this in one of their haxies.

And a now real Cocoa question: can I modify my editor, so that it does
not put its miniaturized windows into the dock?

What do you mean by this? Do you mean change your own local editor so as to not put miniaturized windows in the dock, or the app your writing? If the latter, I would strongly recommend *against* doing this as it violates the consistency users come to expect from the dock and how application windows behave when miniaturized.

Jason
