Hi Steve,
Most likely the problem is that your string files are not saved as
UTF-8. I ran into the same problem when putting together the French
version of our app, Budget. Playing with the text encoding setting of
the files in Project Builder may do the trick for you. However,
Project Builder really likes to use Western (MacOS Roman) encoding and
doesn't always respect the UTF-8 setting. If I remember correctly, I
had to bring the Localizable.strings file into TextEdit and save it as
UTF-8 explicitly to get the French accents to show up correctly.
Good luck.

Subject: German Toolbars & special characters
From: Steve Sheets <email@hidden>
Greetings,
At the request of my customers, I am localizing our product for
German, and other languages. All of our text is either in nib files or
string files, and we follow the rules for localization. Having said
that, we are having problems with special characters (ex: v, _, d) in
the Toolbar. It appears that the title of various items in the toolbar
is not drawn correctly when using these characters. Has anyone else
come across this problem? Any solutions?
Thank you,
Steve Sheets
