This was rather shocking to me when I first encountered it a few months
ago. One halfway wonders if some of the "responsiveness" issues of
10.2 applications (cough Finder cough) is due to the problem of
multithreading the UI easily.
However having said all that, wasn't one of the big behind the scenes
pushes in Panther to dramatically improving threading and re-entrance
in the API calls? I know that with Quicktime this was the case. While
obviously Panther is officially still a "hush hush" topic, is it
allowable by the NDA to discuss whether these UI features have been
improved?
I ask because this may affect when I start a new project and whether to
make it 10.2 compatible or stick with 10.3 as a requirement.
