I am planning to write a small application for Mac OS X that I want to put as
a freeware. I am looking for some good ideas to start with. Any ideas are
welcome?
What about a good GUI front-end to grep? I.e. one where you don't
have to enter regular expressions, but rather have an interface like
Finder's "Find" to graphically build your regexp in something closer
to plain English.
It would also be cool if it made it easy to use the multi-file
search. And of course it should have a nice display of search
results, maybe something like FileMerge's display of differences.
In General, looking at one of the commonly used Unix tools installed
on your Mac and writing a neat GUI on top of that seems like a nice
idea to me :-)
