nib files

I am a beginner in programming so this question may seem silly. In my MainMenu.nib I created an interface and made all the connections to my actions and outlets, however when I run my program, it successfully builds but my window does not pop up. Did I miss a connection? What could I have done to make this happen? If anyone has advice that would be great. Thanks.
