Why a few months? Panther was released yesterday.
Because if you bought Panther, you have Xcode on a CD and wouldn't have
to download it. In fact, you shouldn't have to download it until they
update it.
The front page of the Apple developer site does state that XCode is
now available for download to all ADC members, but it does not appear
under ADC. [Maybe Safari has a hack that tells the server which OS you
are running. I'm running 10.2.4 so naturally, XCode is unusable for
me, :-) ]
Most likely someone forgot to turn on a switch, it will probably
appear in the next day or two.
There's very little reason to do this, but perhaps.
