Whatever happened to that switch control (like the one in address
book and finder) in Panther? On the free ADC sample videos they
have a session where they talk about this new UI object in Panther
(it was still nameless at the time - not sure about now). Anyone
else see the ADC video and remember what they said about it? I was
looking forward to using it in one of my applications as a
standard control.
It's the NSSegmentedControl.
There is no way manage them easily via Interface Builder as far as
I know.
Just in case anyone had any doubts, this is a bug. Anyone want to
volunteer to file the bug?
It would be better if everyone who has encountered the bug would file
a bug report. Apple seems to give more weight to bugs which have
multiple source reports.
It's not a bug. It's stated in the NSSegmentedControl documentation (I
really like the new documentation look, I may add) that you can't do
this currently. So Apple is well aware of the situation and will
certainly improve this.
What on earth makes you think that?
Can I add my NSToolbar's to my application using IB in Panther, or do I
still have to write pages of boilerplate code?
If I run my application in IB's preview mode in Panther, will it show
me the window with the toolbar, or is it still Missing In Action?
If I want to setup my drawer using Drag & Drop in IB, can I?
If I run my app in IB's preview mode, can I try out my Drawer in
Panther to check what side it comes out of, or is it missing too?
Can I set min/max drawer widths in IB?
It seems like IB is gradually becoming less and less useful and we have
to write more and more code, which is sad, because its chipping away at
what makes Cocoa diferent.
