I set up Mail.app to filter mesages based on the "List-Id" header. (Preferences->Rules->SomeRule->Edit Header List...). That way, even cross-posts are filtered correctly between Cocoa Dev and Mac OS X Dev lists, with one copy in each. It is still bad form, though, so avoid cross-posting if at all possible
