Safeway, or some such.
I've been programming professionally for Mac and Windows since 1995. I have
never done any games programming, but I do know some people who used to work
at Electronic Arts. It was not my understanding that EA paid less than other
companies for developers. I also knew people who were game testers at
Nintendo. It didn't sound more fun than testing any other software. An
example of what they do: Plug and unplug the game (back in cartridge days)
50 times, make sure it boots properly each time.
I've never had much interest in working on games. If I had to pick, I'd do
the payroll program. I have this nightmare about getting a bug assigned to
me that reads "Game isn't as fun as could be." and it being assigned a P2
and my boss says we have to fix all P2 bugs before we can ship.
Too scary for me 8-)
