I've put together an (unofficial) FAQ that can answer many basic
questions without requiring you to wait for a reply. Please check the
FAQ before posting a question, especially if your question seems fairly
fundamental (a good example being the recent "Why does my program not
work when I give it to my friend? I built it using Xcode.", which has
been answered about five times over the last few days [and is now FAQ
4.1.13]).
Not only does doing some research (i.e. checking the documentation,
reading FAQs and checking the list archives) make sense because you may
already have the answer to your question, but it will also save you
from the occasional unhelpful response given by a frustrated regular
reader of the list in response to the same question appearing for the
umpteenth time ;-) We're only human, after all :-)
Kind regards,
Alastair.
p.s. If you come up with (or are asked) a question that isn't covered
and that you think should be, please send me both the question and a
sample answer.
p.p.s. My FAQ is nothing to do with Apple; in particular, they aren't
responsible for its content or accuracy. If you find an error in it,
please let me know and I will attempt to fix it.
