In my experience, you should also remember the app that was active
before you "stole the scene". That way you can set it back when you're
all done, instead of leaving the user dangling in the confusing
"faceless background app is frontmost" zone. Use the Carbon routine
GetFrontProcess to figure out who's front when you bust in, and then
SetFrontProcess back to it when you're through.
