Hi,
When working with the Address Book in Jaguar I have never received a
kABDatabaseChangedExternallyNotification. I receive plenty of
kABDatabaseChangedNotification and that seems to cover the needs of
any 3rd party app.
Which Address Book actions triggers the
kABDatabaseChangedExternallyNotification?
An Application other than yours changing the database.
Like Address Book itself.
No, in that case I also get a kABDatabaseChangedNotification. I am
oberving the [NSDistributedNotificationCenter defaultCenter]. I assume
that is correct.
Nope just use the normal notification center instead.
This is why this isn't working for you.
That is not a problem, I can tell from the process ID if the change
was made by my app or some other app. But I'm still curious when
kABDatabaseChangedExternallyNotification is fired, because I don't
ever get one. Not when Address Book changes the database, not when
Mail changes the database...
curiously
