[Slightly OT]:Software Update app & "inactive" items

  • Subject: [Slightly OT]:Software Update app & "inactive" items

Hi all,

For some Java-based tools I'm working on, I would like to prompt the user to install the latest Java update and then launch Software Update, if appropriate. However, I notice that it's possible to make some updates "inactive"...

So, I'd like to know if anyone knows where the inactive items are stored so that I can make sure the Java update isn't in there if the system needs it for my tools. However, I can't find any place on the system where the inactive list is stored...

Has anyone ever encountered this?? It's driving me nuts...

Thanks!

Brad
