Let me introduce you to The Omni Group: <http://www.omnigroup.com/> . The
Omni Group have made available, as source code, the core frameworks upon
which they build their applications (such as OmniWeb, OmniGraffle etc)
since well before Apple started opening the source code of their
underlying OS: <http://www.omnigroup.com/developer/sourcecode/> .

I fully agree that it is a very laudable thing to do, of course, and hope
that even more developers follow these examples :)
