Stefan,
Just that by itself would be valuable.
But even more valuable would be if you handled more of the back end.
Provide a library to take the credit card numbers and transmit them
for processing, handle the processing for us, keep a DB of
usernames/license keys so the users can reinstall sw.
Scott Maxwell recently launched a similar setup for PalmOS; he's even
got a way to take credit cards on the PDA, authorize the app (as
"purchased"/fully functional) immediately, and process the card
transaction later. He takes 12.5% of purchase price as his cut, so
no upfront risk to developers except for time. ( http://
www.pocketpurchase.com ) (might even be worth inquiring about
partnering with you) By the time I roll in my time, credit card
fees, etc., I can't process credit cards myself for 12.5% of the
gross, so this is a good deal AFAIC.
