Frequent time outs with DO over rendezvous

I seem to be getting time outs of this nature very frequently when
using DO over rendezvous:
[NSPortCoder sendBeforeTime: sendReplyPort:] timed out
Frequent enough to worry me that the program may be unusable. WHen
testing I find myself restarting it about 5 times just to get a good
connection. Is this just because the only computer I'm testing with is
my own (I rarely have access to other computers so much of the testing
is broadcasting services that I then find myself, etc). Does this
create some strange occurrence that allows for a time out? Is there
any way to avoid such abundant time outs?
