Worth a shot. Try it and report back.

And, in fact, I have. :-)

Short answer: It seems to work much more quickly than the get, append, set approach. I dunno about any side effects; the next stop for the app is a small alpha test, so I'll let it loose and see what what the animals, errrr, end users, do to it.
