Yes, the build panel contains a split view, the upper part shows the "abstract view" of the build process, the lower part shows the actual commands executed and their actual output.

By default the lower part is collapsed IIRC, so simply un-collapse it (by dragging the splitter up). Then I believe you should see the actual output from 'ld', and thus which symbols are missing...

Although I think it was actually PB that had it default hidden, but Xcode changed that?!?
