Files in Application Support

Hi,

My app uses a couple of popup buttons that are populated from a plist list that resides in the app's bundle. I would like to add an the feature that the user can modify the plist to add items to the popup buttons. I don't think it is a good idea to overwrite the plist in the bundle, so how do I approach this?

A possible solution that I thought of is to create a new plist based on the original one with the users modifications, and store that maybe in ~/Library/Application Support/MyApp/ Then when the user starts the app, it has to read that one first, if it does not exist, use the default one. To access that file, should I do this:

initWithContentsOfFile: @"~/Library/Application Support/MyApp/myFile.plist ?

IIRC, in Mac OS, paths to various folders in the System Folder were defined, but I couldn't find something similar for OS X.

Or maybe I should use NSUserDefaults for this?

thanks,

- Koen.
