You will get nowhere fast on this list with that attitude.
This scrolling issue is a miniscule detail of my application and I would not like to spend any more time on it than I have to. Futhermore, this is the only application I plan to port to the Mac, ever. Reading books about and gaining detailed knowledege of the Cocoa drawing classes would be a poor use of time for me.
Then hire an experienced Cocoa programmer... or be willing to work to make things happen. This list is not populated by people whose job it is to answer yours questions per sé; it is, rather, populated by people with a genuine interest in Cocoa programming and with a desire to help and be helped by others with similar interests.
What is sampling?
Check the the Shark program included with the Apple CHUD package for a great sampling program.
A more simplistic sample (often less helpful, but simpler) can be generated with the
sample program invoked from the Terminal. Check out
man sample for details.
