Re: java bridge crash

Hi,

I got these errors a lot when working on a Cocoa Java app, I couldn't find a workaround, and have seen similar errors on Cocoa Java apps that do not use NSTimers.

I have since given up on the app I was working on, as I didn't want to waste anymore time on an app that would always be unreliable.

I've reported the problems to Apple, but they don't seem very interested.

Cheers

Moray

I have had very similar crashes, mine *seemed* to be related to an
NSTimer (does your app use one?), but it's so inconsistent, it's
difficult to diagnose.

I started having these problems with 10.3.5

Could you file a bugreport, maybe if enough of us do, Apple might do
something.

I'm replying to this older message from the archives. I'm getting a crash too when going over the java bridge, and my stack trace looks the same as yours:

12 <<00000000>> 0xa2523720 typeinfo name for std::bad_exception + 0x6e7c
13 libjvm.dylib 0x9251808c JVM_CurrentTimeMillis + 0x136c
14 libjvm.dylib 0x9254d518 JVM_GetCPClassNameUTF + 0x1798
15 libjvm.dylib 0x92554408 JVM_GetCPMethodModifiers + 0x11f8
16 libjvm.dylib 0x92667c98 jio_vsnprintf + 0xcf18
17 libObjCJava.A.dylib 0x89897b0c __JAVAMethodInvoke + 0xa4

20 libObjCJava.A.dylib 0x8989a328 _BRIDGEMethodImp + 0x98

Was the issue ever resolved, or a workaround discovered? Again not sure if it's related, but I'm going over the bridge in response to a NSTimer firing.

Thanks,
Jesse
