The result is correct, it just gives you what you ask for.
Use this script to get all application support paths:
"POSIX path of (path to application support from system domain) & \",\"
& POSIX path of (path to application support from user domain) & \",\"
& POSIX path of (path to application support from local domain) & \",\"
& POSIX path of (path to application support from network domain) &
\",\" & POSIX path of (path to application support from Classic
domain)"

should return an array of paths (/Library /System/Library,
