This may be more a user question, than a developer question, but it
affects how my customers use our address book product. How do you set
the primary identifier for a property for a person/company in the
address book? For example, how to set someones email address to use
his Home email address as the default value, vs his work or other
email address. I understand how a user sets the Distribution list for
a group of mail in the address book (and we use the
AVGroupCopyDristributionIndentifier to access this setting), but how
does the user set the Primary identifier (which we use the
primaryIdentifier call to access)? Is it simple the first item in a
list of addresses? Or IM names? Or phone numbers?
The Address Book application doesn't let you set the primary value from
the UI. We could never come up with a good UI for this. But if a
primary value is not set the first one is used.
There is a Distribution list editor in Address Book that lets you edit
them.
