I'm with NeXTstep since version 1.1. And I still do all my development
with Cocoa.
It's quite a painful transition from Cocoa to GnuStep.
Especially for porting WOF/EOF 4.x applications. The next time I have
such an application and I don't want to see any Java I will ask you
to make it run for me on MOSX. Ok? How long will it take you to
implement WebObjects and EOF? :-)
The only moment you're right, is concerning AppKit/gnustep-gui.
Few Mac developers are going to be interested in working on a crappier
version of something we already have.
Apart from AppKit: Please give me some examples! Or are you just
talking out of the blue?
And for your application, you are definetely not interested to multiply
your market/revenue by 10? Well at least, many such Mac developers
would be. That's the reason, why they are so interested in GNUstep. But
unfortunately only few of them want to give something. They only want
to take.
And btw, none of both is crap for me. Sorry. It's just a pitty, what
commercial pressure can make out of product (CoreFoundation, EOF, WOF,
OpenStep for Windows, ...). A commercial pressure, that GNUstep doesn't
have.
