Let's make a solution: Variable row-size NSMatrix

I know this topic has been discussed several times before, and for the
second time I am finding myself needing a variable row size NSMatrix.
I would like to fix this problem once and for all. Maybe I am wrong
and there already are some good implementations of this , but from what
I have heard they are not 100% complete. Is anyone interested in
working on a full functioning variable row size NSMatrix that we can
later release as Open Source? Does anyone have partially completed
code they are willing to share?
