Hmm, I agree with Ondra. It's cleaner to launch apps with the
NSWorkspace API; the problem is that you are looking for an app with a
specific creator code, which NSWorkspace doesn't look up for you. What
I would do would be to look at the LaunchServices API (the headers are
in
/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/
LaunchServices.framework/Headers) and use it to look up the URL of the
app with the creator code you want. Then, use LaunchServices to launch
the app.
