I have a suggestion for an enhanced of the currency converter example. I know, it*s not simple, but it is a real enhancement.
I try to translate the german "was waere wenn" into "what would be if".
This means, let the text field "Amount in Other Currency" be editable and add 3 radio buttons with the meanings "nothing", "Fix Exchange Rate" and "Fix Dollars to Convert".

I think this highlights the issue. The intent is not necessarily to produce a "useful" application, but to illustrate the technology. I amy be missing something, but it's not clear how your enhancements would actually make the technology easier to understand?

My question was perhaps also unclear, though: I wasn't looking for modifications to the Currency Converter itself, but instead for different, simple, applications that could help to illustrate the technology. I've created a number of them already (<http://homepage.mac.com/mmalc/CocoaExamples/controllers.html> -- although most will remain offline for the next couple of days), and they typically just show a list of people's first and last names, or URL with title etc. They're very simple, and I hope focus on the technology issues without requiring much thought about the problem domain.
