No, but I do have some other good (and bad) news. The problem has gotten
worse. After the second try, the other Mac failed to launch it also. And
after awhile, my powerbook lost the icon again too.
I unzipped a version which I shipped two weeks ago, doubleclicked the
application, and it launched fine, 5 times. Also it brought my icon back on
all versions, though the new one still won't launch from the Finder. Also
if I try to recompile the old source code, it won't compile (linker can't
find "main", which is ridiculous since it's there, this may or may not be
another problem).
So I'm getting some consistency. I believe the latency in the icon
disappearing and reappearing is due to Panther's caching voodoo, which is
making this more confusing to troubleshoot. But the root of the problem is
somewhere in my source code or project structure.
I'll get it eventually. Any more suggestions in the meantime will be
appreciated.
