One of those questions I'm reluctant to ask. But I can't figure this

Does anyone know?
Just like the way you add menu items to menus on the menu bar. Double
click on the pop menu in the view in IB to get the menu to show. Then
drag and drop menu items or spacers onto it from the "Cocoa-menu"
object pallet.
If you find issue with Apple's documentation report it to Apple in the
form of bug report and make it a little more constructive then "sucks
big time". Anyway Apple's documentation has gotten a heck of a lot
better in the last year or so, thanks to renewed focus on it and
specific developer feedback.
