Not unless you went to WWDC. I've been told it's because students are
more likely to leak copies. While I hate getting punished for other
people's crap, I do remember seeing some students sending emails of
screenshots from last year's WWDC, and I can understand Apple not
liking that very much. Hopefully this year, they'll at least let us
students that went to WWDC have seeds beyond the DVD we got at the
conference. After all, I'd like to learn about the new stuff too.
FYI, Apple won't give anybody additional Tiger seed DVDs unless they
have an Apple Premier or Select ADC membership, regardless of whether
they went to WWDC. That's how it's been with previous Mac OS X
releases, and I believe everybody that went to WWDC this year received
an e-mail stating something to that effect. Unfortunately for (poor
college) students, this means no more Tiger seeds, but in reality it
has nothing to do with students pirating. Everybody has to pay the big
bucks to get more seeds.

There are 10 kinds of people in the world: those that can understand
binary, and those that can't.
