When a program crashes, you're asked if you want to send a report

there a way to redirect this so it mails the report to me? I thought
maybe I could add an email address to the app info somehow. But I
don't see it anywhere. Or can I register with Apple so they forward
to me? Any tips appreciated.

Take a look in ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter or maybe even in /Library/Logs/CrashReporter.
There should be (shouldn't ;-)) files named like Finder.crash.log to which the
latest crash report (stack traces and such) is appended.
